The reason is simple, and that is home assurance. If I provide for a residence that is affordable to the employee, then there is no need to worry about a place to live. As with all apartments, most of the utilities will be included. There will be a laundry room to where the employee, or their family can do the laundry either in the residence, or in Basement 1 if a double load machine is needed. The apartment is a 15 minute walk to the Mon Incline which will allow transfer with one of 2 buses. This proximity helps assures that the employee arrives at work on time.
And yes, I do understand that most employers don’t provide employee housing, but I am not most employers. Since my employees do not have to worry about having a place to live, they can focus their attention on the job at hand. This means 100% of the attention is in their work, and not worry about living. This will also be the reason why the rent will be very reasonable, and at near cost. I am not trying to make a profit off of my employees, so the housing cost is very competitive when compared to other options.
